~ Barely Celery 221K7 Featherweight Number ~ EV935728
May 1964
The last Featherweights Singer produced were pastel colors with a sleek look and no gold decals. They made a few slight changes in the later machines such as a permanently attached foot pedal and cord and a shorter bed. The earlier machines were gear driven, while the later ones used a more "modern" belt driven motors. This resulted in little Featherweights that fly like the wind. If you do a lot of straight work and want a very fast machine, consider one of this type. This Barely Celery Featherweight is in mint condition so much so that I would rate it a 10. It's one of the very best cosmetically that I've ever owned. An absolutely gorgeous showpiece!

The last Featherweights boasted a sleek, art deco design.
In her book "The Perfect Portable", Nancy Johnson-Srebro coined the phrased "Barely Celery" to differentiate the pale green from the white Featherweights. This rare beauty is the Barely Celery version as you will see in the follow photo comparisons. So fresh and pretty! (That is not a chip in the upper right, but a piece of dust.)
The throat plate has a handy seam allowance guide stamped into the surface.
This case is near perfect. It has one nick in the white border in the back of the lid. This can easily be touched up with a dab of paint. I've left it in as-found condition.
The bumps on the inside lid are normal. That's just the rivets that hold the handle in place. You won't find any gold coins hidden in there, so please don't pull your lining apart ;-)
If the photo seems to depict skipped stitches, it's only in the picture. This and all my Featherweights sew beautifully and all are adjusted and ready to plug in a sew immediately. Be-UUUU-tiful!
Lil Opal and the gang and the Featherweight table are not included.
