This very interesting and rare Featherweight was produced in England and is also a Centennial Edition! No worries about the power - it's made for our U.S. voltage and works just fine here. Another interesting and very desirable touch is the Scrolled Face Plate, making Brittany quite a mixture of the best features. While the Scrolled Face Plate was typically put on the older Featherweights, it is my understanding that the factories would pull their stock and use them even after they "discontinued" that style. That must have been how Brittany got hers. On top of that, she has the rare shiny chrome plate on her stitch regulator!
Brittany's rich gold decals do have some wear, particularly in the front of her bed. Her paint is very good, although she has wear and age to her clear coat.
The clear coat over the light and around the head seems to have been exposed to something that caused it to dull - perhaps hand lotion or perfume. I say that as it seems to be around the front and back of the head where a seamstress would pick up her Featherweight. Certainly that is not something that affects Brittany's stitching ability and is merely part of her history.
Here you can see the shiny chrome stitch regulator plate as well as Brittany's proud 100 year Blue and Gold badge.
Ah, there's the beautiful Scrolled Face plate!
The original Bobbin Case has been adjusted and service and is all ready to make a beautiful lower stitch.
A very rare logo, the back decal has the words "Manufactured in Great Britain" under the words "The Singer Manufacturing Co."

Brittany's motor was manufactured by Singer in the United States. I cannot say whether it was put on in Great Britain or in the United States. Either way, it's like all Singer Featherweight motors - purrs like a kitten and strong as an ox!
This is her sewing bed as viewed from the back. The decals of course have much less wear and are quite pretty.

Brittany has been totally serviced and is ready to once again work her magic for some lucky seamstress. She has been cleaned and polished as well as oiled and greased and all her adjustments have been made to ensure a beautiful stitch and good-working sewing machine.
The Edge Stitcher can attach 2 pieces of fabric or lace at their very edges and it can also add piping to your project.
If you like to entertain, perhaps you would enjoy making custom napkins with your Foot Hemmer. No one will guess by that professional turned hem that you made them yourself.
For children's clothing as well as home decor, you can't beat the Ruffler. It can make small, evenly spaced pleats and ruffles with ease.
No more measuring, ironing and pinning hems. The Adjustable Hemmer will make a perfect hem from small to large like those found on pillowcases.
And Brittany makes a perfect stitch on simple cotton fabric. You can't go wrong with this unique and wonderful sewing machine who obviously has a rich, albeit unknown, history.
Brittany case has several mends where the fabric had been worn. She also has a brand new leather handle as her own one had disintegrated. Now her case is all pretty again and ready to protect its wonderful Featherweight.
