A later model Singer Featherweight 221, Jocelyn has Singer's more "modern" prism decals. During the Art Deco era, Singer wanted to update their look to appeal to the younger seamstress and re-designed their decals. Not long after that, they discontinued black with decals altogether and began painting their sewing machines white and tan. So, the prism decals weren't around for very many years and as such, have become sought after by collectors.
Jocelyn has a bit of wear on her front decals as you can see, but her paint is really pretty and shiny. She hasn't seen a lot of service and has many, many more generations of sewing to do!
You can see how nice and clean the graphics on Jocelyn's stitch regulator are. The beautiful golden "S" badge has the elegant black details and the Singer logo on the light is in very good condition.
Although there is some wear in the front decals where her original seamstress had rested her arm as she fed the fabric through, the paint is still shiny and reflects the pattern in my coverlet.
The contemporary Striated Faceplate has bright shiny chrome and the Singerlite shines a bright light on the bed. Everything on Jocelyn has been thoroughly tested and serviced and she received a complete cleaning and polishing.
The paint in the bed reflects the backdrop and shows how lovely Jocelyn is. While she has typical pin marks and slight wear, she is an exceptional sewing machine and will be the pride and joy of her next owner.
The bobbin case is in great shape as well and the tension has been adjusted to match Jocelyn's upper tension.
Jocelyn has a leather V belt attached to her wonderful Singer motor. She runs like a dream and is up to the challenge of her next seamstress.
The rear of the Featherweight on the upper arm has a few mars in the clearcoat over the black paint. Of course, this won't affect her performance, but I wanted to point it out in the interest of fairness.
Isn't she just lovely?! Look at that shine.

The Multi-Slotted Binder did a fine job!
Adjustable Hemmer means no more measuring, ironing and pinning hems.
The Foot Hemmers makes such a wonderful little turned hem.
You won't have to tug on thread to make your gathered projects anymore! Just pop on the Gatherer and let Jocelyn do all the work for you.
One of the functions of the Edge Stitcher is to create a pretty piped edge.
Tiny even pleats or ruffles are possible with the Ruffler. Although it looks complicated, it's quite easy after a little practice.
Jocelyn's case is structurally very sturdy, but she had some tears in her fabric. The tears were nicely covered with matching fabric and the case was cleaned and polished. It's all ready now to keep doing its job protecting its precious cargo!
A perfect package for the seamstress who wants a little more than the Daily Stitcher but doesn't need a Museum Piece to do her sewing!
