Towards the end of production of their black Featherweights, Singer wanted to update their look and give them a more "modern" look. Art Deco was all the rage, so they began adorning their sewing machines with the prism design decals. Not nearly as many were produced with the Art Deco decals and because they are more rare, are sought after by collectors. Luanne is a lovely Featherweight showing some use and wear, but overall in great condition. The front of her decals have some fading and there is a fine overall crackle in the clear coat over the black paint. You need to look closely to see these, so she is still a lovely old gal that's going to delight one lucky new seamstress!

Selina's upper tensioner is in excellent condition and has been fine-tuned for a perfect stitch. The graphics are rich and bright.

All of the following sample stitches were performed on Luanne and will come along with her. She sews beautifully and will handle just about any fabric you would like to work on from lycra to leather.
No more pulling threads to make a gather. Just pop in the Gatherer and allow Luanne to do that for you. It's as easy as straight sewing.
Her tensioner is great and has been serviced and adjusted for a perfect upper tension. The numbers are strong and easy to read.
If you look closely, you will see the crackle on the clear coat. This is not uncommon and happens if a Featherweight has been stored for a years and years inside the case. It certainly doesn't affect the performance or even detract from her beauty in my opinion. It's just part of Luanne's history and evidence of her age.
Of course, she has been fully serviced and her Bobbin Case had the tension adjusted.

The Foot Hemmer is an amazing little attachment that makes those tiny turned hems on fine linens and handkerchiefs.
Luanne has the stamped throat plate, so nice to have for even seam allowances and no tape! You can see the fading in the decals in front.
The original famous Singer motor, a little workhorse wonder. Luanne's is nice and strong and ready to go.
Lovely hems of any size are possible without having to measure or iron. Simply dial up the size you wish on your Adjustable Hemmer.
