Barely Celery 221K7 Featherweight Number EV920255
May 13, 1964
The last Featherweights Singer produced were solid in color with a sleek look and no gold decals.  They made a few slight changes in the later machines such as a permanently attached foot pedal and cord and a shorter bed.  The earlier machines were gear driven, while the later ones used a more "modern" belt driven motors.  This resulted in little Featherweights that fly like the wind.  If you do a lot of straight work and want a very fast machine, consider one of this type.  This little lovely is in excellent condition showing very little wear and pin scratches and only a few little nicks in the paint.  Melody is currently the last Barely Celery Featherweight I have available.

Teddy bear is not included with this Featherweight, but he does help show it off so nicely!
The throat plate has a handy seam allowance guide stamped into the surface.
In her book "The Perfect Portable", Nancy Johnson-Srebro coined the phrased "Barely Celery" to differentiate the pale green from the white Featherweights.  This rare beauty is the Barely Celery version as you will see in the follow photo comparisons.  So fresh and pretty!
Originating from Singer Canada, I opted to leave the factory inspection label on as it's part of Melody's history.
The case is in excellent condition with only minor bumps and scrapes.  These are easily touched up with craft acrylic paints.  As some collectors like the signs of age while others like the touch up done, I'll leave that decision to the new seamstress.
Of course, Melody sings right along making lovely stitches.  She's fast and sweet!
