A big sister to the Featherweight, the Singer 301 is equally sought after by quilters who demand the best. This totally gear driven sewing machine can handle just about anything a seamstress can ask of her. Regina has the much-sought-after 2-tone color and she's from an earlier time when things were made to last. Her retro Art Deco design would allow her to be right at home in Miami in the 50's! If you need a super strong running sewing machine, Regina can certainly fit the bill. The long bed is a plus for quilters as well!
Louisa features a stamped throat plate which will facilitate nice even stitches.
A little heavier than her sister the Featherweight, Regina features a handy carrying handle. You can see in her side photos why she got the name "slant needle." The backwards rake to her design is another art deco touch that makes the 301 so unique. This makes it easy to see the work area by pushing the head to the back.
The stitch regulator has nice big and easy-to-see numbers. The graphics are still strong and bright with no fading or smudging.
Regina has the stamped face plate, making even seam allowances a breeze.
Regina makes a gorgeous stitch. She can sew through multiple layers of leather with a leather needle. In the interest of time, I did not demonstrate every one of her attachments. I guarantee they will all work as they were intended.
The original bobbin case is present and the tension for the bottom thread has been fine-tuned. She's ready to unpack and get started creating beautiful things for you.
Regina has the double cord system. One goes to her Bakelite Foot pedal and the other to your wall outlet. You'll find this configuration in 301's that were originally intended to go into a cabinet. Many of these were configured back to their portable state and cases were purchased for that reason.
Included with Regina are the following extras:
• Original Accessory Box
• Multiple Slotted Binder
• Gatherer
• Ruffler

• Help whenever you need it. I'm just an email away.
The original Bakelite foot pedal is in great shape.
Regina's underside is every bit as clean as the topside! The drip pan is rust-free.

Regina has a few spots here and there where her paint has been nicked. This can be easily touched up with auto paint and I'll leave that decision to the new owner. I choose to leave her in her as-found state.
Look how pristine her inner workings are! She was obviously well cared for. You can see the motor is tucked up inside instead of on the outside. It makes for a quiet running sewing machine.
The 301 light is very handy as it features a magnifying and spot bubble in the glass that directs the light right to your work.
Everything packs up into the carrying case nice and neatly. There's a clip for the foot pedal, as well as a bracket for the cords. On the side you can store the accessory box. In the lid is elastic if you want to tuck your scissors, rulers, etc. there to keep them handy.
It's a mystery as to why almost every single one of the 301 cases have what appears to be water stains on the outside. They don't go to the inside and certainly don't affect the performance or the ability of the case to protect the sewing machine. This case is nice and strong with good, sturdy latches.
