~ Singer Featherweight 221 Number AH436033 ~
January 1948
I LOVE this machine. It is one of my favorites and I made many lovely bears with this Featherweight. It's a very fast machine and would be great for a quilt maker or someone who does a lot of sewing. The decals are bright and shiny and the paint is rich. There are very few marks and rubs on this Singer and it would make a showpiece as well as a wonderful workhorse for the serious seamstress or collector.
Included are the following:
• Bakelite Foot Pedal with Bakelite plug.
• Copy of Owner's Manual
• 5 Bobbins
• Foot Hemmer
• Adjustable Hemmer
• Multiple Slotted Binder
• Edge Stitcher
• Gatherer
• Ruffler
• Original Type Three Carrying Case with Bakelite handle. Nice strong latches and in wonderful condition.
• A copy of the Service Manual used by repairmen and adjusters.
• A copy of my own tips and hints I've learned over the years.
• Support and advice anytime you need it. I'm just an email away.
Opal the teddy bear and the Featherweight table are not included. They are there just to make the picture pretty ;-)
There's a small nick in the back corner of the case. I want to show my machines in clean and as-found condition for those who are purists and want the evidence of age and service in their Featherweights. If you wish, you can hide the nick nicely with a touch of paint.
The white mark is much brighter in these photos than you see in real life. It's more camera glare in the bit of shine left from a piece of tape the previous owner had put in there. Perhaps her name?
