I absolutely adore this huge teddy bear! I'm sad to say, I have no idea who created her - which is a shame. They did a lovely job. Her body shape and classic face invokes images of the universally admired Steiff bears of old.
This big blonde beauty was created of vintage mohair She measures 27 inches long and has a satisfying weight. She is fully jointed and has inset wool paw pads.
I have added an antique childs silk and satin coat and hat. It features gorgeous lace details, a fabulous little hat and bright pink silk lining. I've saved this in my own collection for years just waiting for the perfect bear to come along. And she did. The edges of the hem and sleeves have wear, but that only adds charm to this amazing set.
Since there is no tag and no indication of her name, that honor will go to her new owner.
